S\u00e9miramis est une\u00a0<em>executive woman<\/em> arborant tailleur \u00e0 \u00e9paulettes, Assur un mafieux abusant des rangs de coke (le pauvre homme, au dernier degr\u00e9 de l\u2019addiction, ne peut appara\u00eetre sans se mettre \u00e0 sniffer compulsivement), mais l\u2019action se d\u00e9roule dans un cadre somptueux, palais de marbre noir aux parois assez mobile pour respecter les diff\u00e9rents lieux de l\u2019intrigue \u2013 le fait m\u00e9rite qu\u2019on le souligne, bien des productions d\u2019op\u00e9ra optant d\u00e9sormais pour un d\u00e9cor unique, en raison de contraintes budg\u00e9taires mais au m\u00e9pris de toute logique. La mise en sc\\u00e8ne pens\\u00e9e par\\u00a0<strong><a href=\\\"https:\\\/\\\/www.premiereloge-opera.com\\\/artiste\\\/mise-en-scene\\\/2021\\\/12\\\/01\\\/pierre-emmanuel-rousseau\\\/\\\">Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau<\\\/a><\\\/strong>\\u00a0(responsable \\u00e9galement des d\\u00e9cors et des \\u2013 forts beaux \\u2013 costumes) est elle aussi tr\\u00e8s sombre : prenant appui sur la conception que les auteurs des textes bibliques puis les chr\\u00e9tiens de l\\u2019\\u00e9poque m\\u00e9di\\u00e9vale avaient de l\\u2019antique cit\\u00e9 (une conception sans doute tr\\u00e8s \\u00e9loign\\u00e9e de la r\\u00e9alit\\u00e9 historique, Babylone \\u00e9tant devenue dans l\\u2019imaginaire collectif\\u00a0 une ville ou triomphent le luxe, l\\u2019immoralit\\u00e9 et le vice sous toutes ses formes : ne se confond-elle pas avec la Grande Prostitu\\u00e9e dans le livre de l\\u2019Apocalypse ?), le metteur en sc\\u00e8ne transpose l\\u2019action d\\u2019une cour imaginaire, oppressante, o\\u00f9 r\\u00e8gne une violence sanguinaire que symbolisent les gants rouges port\\u00e9s par le Grand Pr\\u00eatre de Baal : on y pratique des sacrifices humains, on y sniffe de la coke, on y \\u00e9gorge toute personne susceptible d\\u2019entraver notre marche vers le pouvoir \\u2013 et les femmes ne sont pas les derni\\u00e8res \\u00e0 recourir \\u00e0 ces exp\\u00e9dients violents, t\\u00e9moin le personnage d\\u2019Azema (impeccable\\u00a0<strong>Natalie P\\u00e9rez<\\\/strong>, m\\u00eame si elle a peu \\u00e0 chanter\\u2026), assez insignifiant dans l\\u2019\\u0153uvre originale mais rev\\u00eatant ici une importance dramatique in\\u00e9dite : faisant mine d\\u2019accepter la proposition d\\u2019Idreno lui proposant de devenir sa femme, elle poignarde finalement son pr\\u00e9tendant puis Arsace avant, lors de la sc\\u00e8ne finale, de s\\u2019emparer de la couronne de Semiramide pour s\\u2019auto-couronner tandis que retentit l\\u2019ultime ch\\u0153ur de r\\u00e9jouissances. Une vision pour le moins noire, mortif\\u00e8re, coh\\u00e9rente, dans laquelle\\u00a0<strong><a href=\\\"https:\\\/\\\/www.premiereloge-opera.com\\\/artiste\\\/mezzo-soprano\\\/2023\\\/09\\\/07\\\/karine-deshayes-biographies-roles-projets\\\/\\\">Karine Deshayes<\\\/a><\\\/strong>, dans le
